Spring 2021 Calendar
Though the University has adjusted the Spring 2021 academic calendar, the Seminary will keep its original academic calendar. While spring dates have not changed, for many classes, the format has. Here’s what you need to know:
- J-term intensives will take place synchronously online the week of January 4th.
- Regular Spring term courses will begin January 11th online either asynchronously or synchronously for face-to-face courses. Please note: this is earlier than the University and different from what Self-Service states.
- The week of January 18th will be a week off from regularly scheduled main campus and online courses. Even though the Midwinter Conference has been cancelled, the hybrid intensives that were scheduled will still take place during that week. Midwinter intensive courses will open online January 4th.
- Starting the week of January 25th, main campus courses will meet on in person. At that time campus will have opened. All other courses will continue synchronously or asynchronously online.
- There will not be class during the week of March 8th for Reading Week.
- Syllabi are linked on the Schedules and Syllabi page of the Seminary website, but as always, remember to check Canvas for the most up-to-date version once you are registered.
As always, please be in touch with your instructor if you have questions about the course schedule or format.
We Want Your Course Feedback!
You should have received an email from Alex with a link to the course evaluation for each course that you were registered for this fall semester. Please submit your feedback by this Wednesday at noon! Remember, your responses are anonymous, and they help instructors to make adjustments for future classes. We look at all course evaluations and your feedback is important!
Holiday Break Campus Closure
Please remember that NPU/NPTS offices are closed for the holiday break December 21-January 4th.

Consider MNST 6110 Engaging Congregations in Ministries of Health online this spring. The subtitle this year will be The Role of Churches in Health During a Pandemic.
Now more than ever the role of churches in promoting the health of their congregations and communities is crucial, as we are living through a global pandemic. Wellness and restoring health was foundational in Jesus’ ministry and is essential to today’s churches. This spring MNST 6110 Engaging Congregations in Ministries of Health will be exploring how churches can encourage human flourishing from wellness and caring ministries to responding to the contemporary crisis of COVID 19. This course is run seminar style and will be discussion driven.
