Call to Prayer in Response to Unrest

Dear Seminary Community,

In light of the events that have transpired in our nation’s capital, I ask that you join us in a call to prayer. May our leaders be focused on creating pathways to unity. May we seek ways to look beyond our differences. May the church be a witness to a gospel that is beyond politics.

The violent and hostile actions of this week compound fears and anxieties heightened both by the ongoing pandemic and the injustices it has uncovered.

As we pray in our homes, let us be drawn to the words of Jesus found in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Lord, hear our prayers.
