The Feast of the Epiphany came and went this year on January 6, 2021. Epiphany is the day in the church calendar when we celebrate the “epiphany” or manifestation of the Christ to the whole world-not just some people or certain religious people or special people or rich and elite people but to all. We read the story of the non-religious wise folks who followed the star that led them to worship the Prince of Peace. The gospel is radically inclusive and calls us to extend the love of God beyond our comfort levels and natural boundaries. This work is not done in isolation but together in community-even if that is via ZOOM.
The text always leads us and the Morning Star is our guide.
As we look forward to our worship life together this semester we will be led by the text and the call to prayer. Each week we will alternate a text based service with a prayer based service, at times gathering in smaller groups.
This week on Thursday, January 14 at 11 we will meet on ZOOM (click for the zoom link) to begin our semester together in prayer and worship. This week, Dean Kersten will lead us through the text as we begin our semester together. The theme from John 1:43-51 is Calling…Come and See… Come and Be Seen. We encourage all community members to join us to join in song, word and prayer as we seek to work and worship together.
