Dear members of the NPTS Community,
Greetings in this New Year! I trust that the Christmas break was restful and renewing. As we begin the New Year we thought it would be helpful to gather and have a focused conversation regarding the emerging situation with Campus Pastor Judy Peterson. Following chapel on Thursday, January 18th we are having a lunch and focused community conversation. We ask that you be in prayer about this time and please extend your prayers to Pastor Judy Peterson, the Board of the Ordered Ministry, the leadership of the University, and the leadership of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
As we journey together please be aware we would gladly offer pastoral care to anyone who has experienced any pain or trauma related to how this issue has come forward in the campus community or the community of the church. We are open to meeting privately and confidentially with any students who have personal questions regarding human sexuality or gender identity. Please contact Dean Auger as the chair of the Pastoral Care Committee if you have any questions or would like additional resources.
If you are unable to make this lunch discussion on short notice and wish you could attend, we are willing to host an additional discussion at another time if there is enough interest. Please let Deb know your wish to do so.
