Snapshot #1 – Phyllis Myung
- Where do you call home?
- Boston, MA (although I consider both Chicago & Seattle to be my second “homes”)
- What program are you part of?
- I’m part of the MACF program.
- What drew you to NPTS?
- The affiliation with the Covenant is what really drew me to NPTS and I met a bunch of NPTS grads and they are the BEST!
- What brings you joy in ministry?
- The Next Generation! Kids, youth, college students – they bring me great joy in ministry because they are always curious and asking questions and really considering their faith in the context of their lives – in a way that I don’t think I ever did. And the way they accept and love one another – it’s an amazing example of Jesus and God’s unconditional love lived out before my eyes. The other thing that really brings me a lot of joy in ministry is the work in racial righteousness. It’s hard, but when we are able to bridge the gap and to fight for our brothers and sisters – the joy of realizing the baptismal family we have – there is nothing like it! For me, that work is the reminder of the beautiful mosaic that is the body of Christ.
- If you could immediately become an expert in something, what would it be?
- I would probably become an expert in some sort of martial arts.
- What is 1 Random fact about yourself?
- I love to drink cold drinks year-round – even in the winter. Iced tea, iced water – even ice cream! If it has ice and it’s cold, I will probably love it.
