Swedish Summer Clinical Field Education
Clinical Field Education at Swedish Hospital offers a diverse setting, pastoral mentoring, and hands-on clinical pastoral experience at a historically faith-based acute care hospital near the North Park campus.
Field Education is anticipated to be scheduled between June 7 and August 20, 2021. Swedish Hospital employee health screenings and general orientation will need to be completed prior to beginning of the program. Training for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hospital safety protocols will be provided.
While this program is technically not a full-time commitment, it can be emotionally stressful and physically strenuous. Students are advised to limit other commitments over the summer. Each student will need to accommodate other students’ schedules, hospital needs, and program guidelines. Good communication and flexibility are keys to successfully completing this program. If you plan to register for a summer intensive or have significant schedule limitations, please contact a chaplain to see if Swedish Hospital Clinical Field Education will work for you.
If you have any questions or want to apply, email Tim Johnson for the application at tjohnson2@northpark.edu OR Lead Chaplain Rev. Eric Hillabrant, MDiv, BCC at 773-878-8200 X 5363 or ehillabrant@schosp.org

Anti-Asian Hate Town Hall Presentation
Dr. Boaz Johnson recently hosted a town hall meeting with Dr. Russell Jeung; Rev. Greg Yee; and Rev. Mary Chung March to discuss the Asian American experience during COVID19. It includes educational sections and calls for lamenting the climate of hate we have created and the context of fear that many Asian Americans are experiencing.
Here is a recording of the Town Hall if you would to listen in on this important conversation.

Women Ministries of the Central Conference
Women Ministries of the Central Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church offers up to two $500 scholarships annually to women who attend North Park University or North Park Theological Seminary full-time, reside in the Central Conference area and are active in an Evangelical Covenant Church. The Central Conference Region includes Upper Michigan, the eastern portion of Missouri and the states of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
This scholarship seeks to encourage university women by making them aware of the support of women in Central Conference. It also seeks to offer an opportunity for the recipients to become aware of the various Women Ministries opportunities of our denomination.
The award checks will be presented to the recipients at the WMCC Fall Retreat* in September where they will be given a brief opportunity to be recognized. The purpose of this is to not only introduce women of Central Conference to the actual recipients of the scholarship each year, but also to encourage their support of this scholarship program.
