Spring Term Starts Today!
All semester long courses online and in-person begin today so be sure to log into Canvas! If you class is scheduled to be on campus, it will meet online this week. Courses will not meet face to face until after campus reopens January 19th. Please pay close attention to instructions and details from your professor.
Welcome New Students!
We are so excited for you to be joining us this Spring! If you have any questions or need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to semservices@northpark.edu and we will try to help you as best as we can. We know this is a tricky time to enter into a new school and space, so let us know how we can help this transition be as smooth as possible!
Each fall and spring, NPTS holds an info fair to highlight offices, groups, and resources on campus. In the interest of safety, this year we are taking the fair online. Many departments and groups on campus have made video introductions for new (and returning) students to help you get to know them and what opportunities are available. Meet the friendly faces behind the emails and learn about some of the many resources available to you. Check out the videos.
If you are NOT taking a class this semester…
If you are NOT taking classes this semester, please get in contact with Seminary Academic Services to fill out a form for a leave of absence. Please email semacademicserv@Northpark.edu for the form and more information!
Invitation to Discussion with Soong-Chan Rah
We invite students to a time of discussion with Professor Rah and his decision to take a call at Fuller Theological Seminary. The discussion will take place at noon (CST) on Tuesday, January 26.
The first 30 minutes (12-12:30) is open to all students. From 12:30-1:00 (CST), Dr. Rah will have a designated time for students of color to meet with him, Dr. Edwards, and Prof. Belmonte Stephens. If you are not available at this time, Dr. Rah, Dr. Edwards, and Prof. Belmonte Stephens welcome a discussion at your convenience. The zoom link went out in your email last week and if you need the link again, please email semservices@northpark.edu
If you have any questions about the discussion, please email Dean Michelle at mclifton-soderstrom@northpark.edu

Michigan Avenue Forum 2021: Faith in Uncertain Times: Reflecting on the Past and Envisioning the Future
Thursday, January 14, 2021 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Join us for this livestream event at www.fourthchurch.org
Faith is an embrace of the future. Yet as true as that may be, the events of 2020 upended our lives and have added even more uncertainty about what tomorrow may bring. For this year’s Michigan Avenue Forum, we are bringing together a dynamic panel to explore the past year while also looking to the future.
Panelists will discuss questions such as
– What is the role of faith and religious institutions in these unsettled times?
-How can our faith communities work together to rebuild society and become a unifying force in Chicago?
-From the pandemic what have you learned about faith and humanity?
-How do we survive, thrive, and flourish in these historic times?
-What is your biggest hope for the future?
Moderator
Lucy Forster-Smith, Senior Associate Pastor, Fourth Presbyterian Church
