Nyvall Lectures

The seminary is proud to welcome Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Conde-Frazier to the 2019 Nyvall Lectures, April 4 at 9 am in Isaacson Chapel. Dr. Conde-Frazier will give two lectures that morning, speaking on the Public Role of the Lantix Church. Dr. Conde-Frazier is a practical theologian, ordained in the American Baptist Church. She currently serves as the Coordinator of Relations for Theological Entities at the Association of Hispanic Theological Education. More information can be found on the web. Commencement Volunteers Needed

We are quickly approaching the end of the academic year and are planning commencement events.  If you are available to either help with the graduation luncheon on May 10 or serve as an usher during the commencement service on May 11, please let Emily Wagner know.  If you are a scholarship student, these are both great opportunities to get hours.

If you find yourself gravitating toward discipleship and spiritual formation and sense the Lord calling you into this kind of ministry for your future, CRUX is an intentional living learning cohort for first year university students that desire to be intentional about their pursuit of Jesus as they start university. This comprehensible formational cohort is designed for students to experience how Christ is formed in them coupled with an thorough understanding of Kingdom theology. Emergent Grace Art Sale

You are invited to submit an application for a juried art sale to benefit Journey Center of Chicago. No entry fee for submissions or booth fees for this sale. Art sales submissions may include paintings, sculpture, prints, photography, pottery and jewelry. A limit of 20 artists will be selected for this sale. Artists will be asked to donate 20% of sale revenue to Journey Center of Chicago. 3rd Annual Religious Scholars Program

The CM CARES Foundation believes that supporting today’s vibrant and dedicated religious scholars will help ensure strong faith-based communities tomorrow. The CM CARES Religious Scholar program was created to support graduate-level students who are pursuing advanced degrees and are committed to ministry as a career. Students of all faiths are encouraged to apply. Fifty scholarship winners will each receive $5,000 to help pay tuition, fees, books or other costs of attending school during the 2019-20 academic year. The application period runs February 15th -April 19th, so students should apply as soon as possible. Winners will be announced in June. CBE International 2019 Student Paper Competition

Three students will have the honor of presenting their research papers at CBE International’s 2019 conference in Houston, TX, to an audience of advocates and leaders within the evangelical church (August 2-4, 2019). All papers may also be considered for publication in one of CBE’s award winning journals. Submit a paper between 2,500 and 5,000 words in length. Papers must address an aspect of biblical gender equality related to the theme of the conference (see page 2) or the biblical basis for shared leadership and authority of men and women (CBE’s mission). Papers previously written for a class that address one of the themes above are acceptable for submission. Submission Deadline is May 5, 2019 at 11:59 pm CDT (GMT-5). Email conferences@cbeinternational.org with your paper as an attachment, and type “Student Submission” in the subject line. Final decisions regarding submissions will be emailed June 7, 2019. CBE appreciates every submission.

The Proof for the Truth Apologetics Conference

Can you defend your faith? This conference is designed to engage with other believers and to learn the scientific, historical, archaeological, philosophical, and non-Biblical evidence for the faith.
