From the Office of the President on Voting:

In our city and across our nation Americans have been voting for several weeks, but tomorrow is Election Day. On this election eve, let’s consider a few thoughts about its importance and its relationship to our citizenship and our mission.

Exercising the right and responsibility to educate ourselves about every election – and to identify the candidates who most closely align with our own ideals and values – are rare privileges. Throughout the history of this institution of higher learning, North Park has valued the idea of individual freedom to think, learn and discern – balanced with the responsibility in our Christian community to seek and model respect in relationships, fellowship, conversations, and friendships. At the heart of any academic community are commitments to freedom of inquiry, discovery, and equity of voice in dialogue – and these freedoms are protected in our community.

While North Park is politically non-partisan as an institution, we are not neutral with respect to our Christian values. We believe that everyone who is eligible to vote should do so and that all of us have a responsibility to protect and support the right and opportunity to vote.

We encourage and support members of our community who have not yet voted to do so, and to plan the time necessary to visit a polling place and accomplish this privilege.
