Opportunity to Virtually Attend CCDA Conference!

The Office of Seminary Admissions has five passes to attend the upcoming Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) Conference. CCDA focuses on matters of justice and how Christians can participate in God’s work of radically transforming communities. NPTS has been a long time member of CCDA and sponsor of their annual conference. If you’re interested in attending this year’s virtual gathering (Oct 1-3) email Baily Warman at brwarman@northpark.edu by September 16th. Passes available for current degree seeking students. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from these knowledgeable and faithful leaders. For more info on CCDA check out the organization’s website at https://ccda.org/

Walking for Wellness

Are you looking to connect with others? Are you seeking to move more as part of your self- care as you begin this semester? We have the solution! This Fall we are facilitating “Walking for Wellness” to help with communal connection and wellness. Interested folks will be paired up with one other person after which you will determine your schedule and frequency of walking. The first walking pair to reach 50 combined miles will receive a picnic basket with goodies including fresh baguettes, fresh fruit, yummy cheeses and crackers. Lace up those sneakers and get walking!

Convocation 2020

If you missed Convocation last week, it is still available to view online. Check it out!

Do you need FLDC 5300 Vocational Excellence?

VE is a required first year course, so if you missed it, there will be an extra opportunity to get it done. A virtual section will run November 9-13, 2020 Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5:00pm and Friday 9:00am – noon (CST). This session is being held in conjunction with the Covenant Orientation program, so if you are interested, please let Emily Wagner know.

Anticipate graduating this year? NPU has a new process for submitting graduation applications online. The application can be found under Graduation Overview at Self-Service. We encourage students to submit applications at least two full semesters prior to their anticipated graduation date. May 2021 apps are due Oct 5, 2020.

Graduates who have already applied for graduation do not need to reapply with the new system. Please review your audit and contact Seminary Academic Services if you have any questions.

Each fall, NPTS holds an info fair to highlight offices, groups, and resources on campus. In the interest of safety, this year we are taking the fair online. Many departments and groups on campus have made video introductions for new (and returning) students to help you get to know them and what opportunities are available. Meet the friendly faces behind the emails and learn about some of the many resources available to you. Check out the videos.

Library/Academic Support Virtual Information Session

In case you missed the live session last week, please find the recording of our library/academic support orientation here (Please note you will need to be logged into your NPU account to view the video.) Kris Bruckner and Steve Spencer are both here to support seminary students and are available for questions.

LIBRARY FALL 2020 UPDATES

Course Reserves The library is still providing course reserves. When possible, the library is purchasing ebook versions of course reserves. If no ebook version exists and the library owns the print copy, this copy will be available for use in the library. Each book will be quarantined for 72 hours after it is used. To locate course reserves (ebook and print), please use the Library Catalog available on our website.

Study Spaces and Building Hours The library will be open with reduced hours this semester and will have socially distanced spaces for individuals to study. Study spaces will be cleaned by library staff between each use. We will not have many public computers and all students are encouraged to bring their laptops. To view the library’s hours, please see the Hours page on our website.

Course Refund Policy

Now that classes are underway, please remember to be mindful of drop deadlines and the course refund policy. You can find all academic policies in the academic catalog and if you have questions, reach out to Seminary Academic Services.
