The Contribution of Theology to Rationality

November 02, 2022 | 2.00PM CDT – November 04, 2022 | 5.30PM CDT

Swift Hall, 1025 E. 58TH Street, Chicago, IL, 60637.

This conference is held in honor of Jean-Luc Marion (Andrew Thomas Greeley and Grace McNichols Greeley Professor of Catholic Studies and Professor of the Philosophy of Religions and Theology, and Professor in Social Thought and Philosophy). It brings together scholars to give lectures that reflect Marion’s past and current interests, highlight and honor his many contributions, and outline and define what he has meant for the Chicago tradition of doing theology as a conversation between reason and revelation.

This event is free and open to the public, with all lectures taking place in the third floor lecture hall of Swift Hall, located on the main quad of the University of Chicago. Publications by Marion with UChicago Press will be available at a discounted price.

Catalyst on Campus: The Center for Civic Engagement’s Community Development Hub Explores the Mission of Transform Capital

Wednesday, November 2, 2022
12:30 – 2:00 pm JC314 |  Facebook Live

In the spirit of collective interest and impact, we welcome our campus community to learn more about the work of TC during our Catalyst on Campus on Wednesday, November 2, 12:30 – 2:00 pm in JC314. During our time together, community and market leaders, NPU interns and TC Co-founders will share perspectives on:

  • Why economics are so central to human flourishing

  • Why the stark realities of community disinvestment extend far beyond the 606 borders

  • Why the TC model was created, and how it offers a unique opportunity to ignite the power of generational advantage for our sisters and brothers in communities often marginalized by both traditional financial systems and the ravages of payday lending.

Virtual Meeting Info:
The session will be broadcast on our Center for Civic Engagement Facebook page, and everyone is welcome to view and ask questions.

Class Credit Info:
If you are a student participating for class credit, please sign in at the event in person.

All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. RSVP is not required. Free lunch will be provided.

You may contact Catalyst Hub Office Assistant Marcia Lillard (mmlillard@northpark.edu) if you have any questions.
