Student Information about Midwinter

As you should all be aware, Midwinter, the annual ECC Pastor’s Conference, is next week! This is an important time for the denomination, and an unusual time for the Seminary. As such, there are a few different things to be aware of!

First, there are NO regularly scheduled seminary classes during this week, either on campus or online. (It may be a good time to catch up or get ahead on any reading you may have 😊).

Second, many faculty and staff will be attending Midwinter, and will therefore be out of the office. They may not be able to respond to emails and such as quickly as normal. If you are coming in for the conference and would like to meet with Alex Macias (Academic Services) or Emily Wagner (Student Services), you can use this link to schedule with them when they are at Midwinter.

Three, there are a few different intensive courses going on during Midwinter. Most are geared at the IGNITE Cohorts.

Old Testament 1: Pentateuch and Interpretation- Dr. Clayton

Christian Education and Formation in the church- Dr. Poterek (IGNITE C1)

Vocational Excellence- Carol Lawson and Don Robinson (IGNITE C2)

Journey to Mosaic – Dr. Rah and Cheryl Lynn Cain (IGNITE C2)

Christian Theology – Dr. Belmonte-Stephens (IGNITE C3)

If you are attending any of these courses, be checking your North Park email for information about where and when the class is held, what books are required, and what assignments are due before the course starts, among other things.

If you are in Chicago, you are welcome to attend the Midwinter Conference! Some events are only open to those who have registered, including the Monday night opening dinner where the North Park Gospel Choir is singing. However, there are events that are open to everyone:
