Advocates for Victims of Abuse (AVA) Training

The seminary student association and ECC’s Women Ministries have partnered together to offer the denomination’s AVA (Advocacy for Victims of Abuse) training. AVA seeks to help all persons recognize abuse, to support the abused, and to give language to speak about abuse for advocates and survivors alike. This training is appropriate for pastors, youth ministry staff, seminarians, small group leaders, childcare workers, and volunteers at all levels.

The training will take place on Saturday, March 24 from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm in Nyvall Hall. This training is free to all who register and is open to all seminary students, spouses, or broader community members interested. Lunch will be provided.

Professor Ellen Made the News!

We celebrate with Ellen the good work that is being done at New Moms.  Most students have Professor Ellen Kogstad in class, but did you know that she founded New Moms, whose mission “is to share the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with everything they need to transform their lives”.   They were recognized and celebrated on Chicago news this last week.  Take a look at the news video and celebrate along with us.
