Lord have mercy…

We grieve the mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday night and pray for all the victims.  May the God of Comfort be with the families of those who have died, the Prince of Peace be with those who survived and witnessed the violence, and may the Spirit of the Living God move and act with power to redeem the brokenness of this day and the terror of this world.  Amen.

If there are specific prayer requests from you or your community, please let us know so we can join together in prayer.

Volunteer at the North Park Art Walk

Do you love art? The North Park community is hosting an Art Walk the weekend October 7-8 from 12-6PM each day. And volunteers are needed! If you are able to help support this event, you will receive a free t-shirt, meet local artists, and experience beautiful art. Musicians for the stage performances are also needed. If interested or want more information, please contact Paul de Neui at pdeneui@northpark.edu.

Chapel Next Week Launches “Worship Across…” Series

Next week is our first worship service that is a part of our new and exciting series “Worship Across…” funded by a Vital Worship Grant through the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship.  Our first chapel in this this series will be “Worship Across Ability” and our guest preacher will be Barbara Newman or Christian Learning Centers of Grand Rapids.  More details here.

We are eager to get this chapel series started which will explore the various divides that plague the church today in planning, leading, and implementing worship.  Over the course of the year there will be six different practitioners joining us.

Travel Course Thailand 2018

Are you interested in traveling to Thailand to learn more about Christianity in that context? Whether a residential or distance student, you have the opportunity to join the 3-credit course “MNST-6130: The Gospel in Asian Context.” This hybrid course includes online work that culminates in a trip to Thailand from January 2-13, 2018. In Thailand, the class will join Thai Christians in ministry and attend the annual SEANET conference. The conference theme this year is the Role of Ritual in the Buddhist context. Scholarships are available. Please contact Ben Wickstrom and Paul de Neui at cwcs@covchurch.org for more information.

Donate with SA Toward Hurricane Relief

Join with the NPTS Student Association as we respond to the urgent and ongoing needs of those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. SA invites you to donate online toward domestic disaster response through the Love Mercy Do Justice and Covenant World Relief.

Many lives, both human and animal, are affected by this storm of historic proportions and its aftermath. A number of Covenant congregations have been impacted and are also among the volunteers. SA has identified this ECC initiative as appropriate for standing with our brothers and sisters in Christ in a time of great need. SA has pledged $300 to the above mentioned special fund and now we ask for your participation through individual donations from all seminary students, staff, faculty, and families, whether on campus or at a distance. Please donate prayerfully, freely and generously through this community effort.

To make a donation, go HERE and click “Give Today” under Hurricane Harvey Response. You can give to a specific response effort or you can give to where it is needed the most.  Enjoy giving!

Come participate in chapel!

Each of us brings our own perspective to worship and that is what gives chapel depth. As we worship together, we learn from each other, while giving glory to God!
If you would like to find out more of the ways you can be involved in chapel this semester, please see Sarah Tarantino or email her at setarantino@northpark.edu

Bakers Needed!

Do you bake bread?  Would you enjoy serving our community from behind the scenes?  Then we have a task for you…each week we have homemade bread for communion during our chapel service.  If you would like to get in the bread making rotation, please see Sarah Tarantino or email her at setarantino@northpark.edu
