Donate with SA Toward Hurricane Relief

Join with the NPTS Student Association as we respond to the urgent and ongoing needs of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Now through September 30, SA invites you to donate online toward domestic disaster response through the Love Mercy Do Justice and Covenant World Relief.

Many lives, both human and animal, are affected by this storm of historic proportions and its aftermath. A number of Covenant congregations have been impacted and are also among the volunteers. SA has identified this ECC initiative as appropriate for standing with our brothers and sisters in Christ in a time of great need. SA has pledged $300 to the above mentioned special fund and now we ask for your participation through individual donations from all seminary students, staff, faculty, and families, whether on campus or at a distance. Please donate prayerfully, freely and generously through this community effort.

To make a donation, go HERE and click “Give Today” under Hurricane Harvey Response. You can give to a specific response effort or you can give to where it is needed the most.  Enjoy giving!

Come participate in chapel!

Each of us brings our own perspective to worship and that is what gives chapel depth. As we worship together, we learn from each other, while giving glory to God!
If you would like to find out more of the ways you can be involved in chapel this semester, please see Sarah Tarantino or email her at setarantino@northpark.edu

Bakers Needed!

Do you bake bread?  Would you enjoy serving our community from behind the scenes?  Then we have a task for you…each week we have homemade bread for communion during our chapel service.  If you would like to get in the bread making rotation, please see Sarah Tarantino or email her at setarantino@northpark.edu

Canvas Updates

A few issues have arisen regarding Canvas and we wanted to make you aware of them so that you can alert faculty/staff in the NPTS. (See full details here.)

  1. The best practice for using Canvas on a smartphone or other mobile device is to access Canvas using the app. (more helpful details in link)
  2. As of July 27, 2017, the Canvas SpeedGrader app has been discontinued and replaced by the Canvas “Teacher” app. (more helpful details in link)
  3. Some browsers are not fully compatible with Canvas and may provide for a less than adequate experience. The following browsers have been known to have issues when used with Canvas: Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. Please refrain from using these browsers with Canvas. Instead, use Google Chrome, FireFox, or Safari as your browser.
  4. Note: instructors (referred to as “teachers” in Canvas) are not automatically removed from a given Canvas shell when there is a change in instructors. If a change in instructors should occur, please notify COE and we will make that change for you.
  5. Note: students are automatically read into Canvas rosters on a 24-hour basis. If the student has registered for a given course, please wait 24 hours for that student to be present within the Canvas shell. If the student is not in the Canvas shell after the 24-hour period, please notify COE for assistance.

Thank you for insuring that all of your faculty (both full-time and part-time) have this information. Please let us know if you have further questions by contacting us at coe@northpark.edu or x6204.
