Study God’s Global Vision at Stateville

Are you interested in learning more about God’s mission as a theme, found throughout the entire Bible? This topic is central, no matter if you serve at home or anywhere in this world. This coming fall 2018, we are offering the class, MNST-6150: God’s Global Vision, along with fellow students at Stateville Correctional Center. This class can be used towards completing the Intercultural Ministry Certificate and can be petitioned to substitute as the required THEO-5140: Advanced Seminar in Theology. If you have questions about course content please contact the course professor, Dr. Paul de Neui, at pdeneui@northpark.edu.  Priority registration for this class is given to students in our Transformative Justice Certificate.  If you would like to take the course, please email semacademicserv@northpark.edu to express your interest and see if there is still room available.

Sustainable Urban Gardening

Do you like to eat fresh, delicious produce? Are you in Chicago this summer and like to be outside? Just one block north of Foster, the seminary has an urban garden plot. Whether you would like to plant, water, weed, or pick yummy produce, your help is needed! We will hold a planting day soon, so you can help decide what grows this year. If you are interested in helping this summer or want more information, please contact Paul de Neui, at pdeneui@northpark.edu.

Covenant Chaplains Scholarship

Covenant Chaplains Association (CCA) is happy to offer the opportunity for scholarships to Covenanters (theological students and clergy, first priority for chaplains and those planning to pursue a vocation in chaplaincy) engaging in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).  CCA voted to approve the use of funds for scholarships in the amount of $1000.00. This means our 5-person Scholarship Committee will select qualified candidates, typically 2-4 persons, depending on how many qualified applicants there are, to divide the $1000.00.

If you are planning on taking CPE in 2018/19, you may wish to apply for a scholarship by using this form. It spells out the criteria and serves as the application. Completed applications or questions should be submitted by email to our CCA Secretary/Treasurer, Brian Turnbow, at cca.secytreas@gmail.com during the application season which is April 15-September 1, 2018.
